Our story
Since 1972, GP Tools has been designing and manufacturing the highest quality riveters right here in the USA.
GP Tools has been in business for more than fifty years, using tried and true practices to create some of the best pneumatic riveting and insertion tools on the planet.
We source our materials from companies in the United States and assemble them at our facility along the Snake River in Idaho, just a few miles from Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Park.
GP Tools continues to expand, attending a trade mission to Mexico with Idaho’s governor.
GP Tools completes its rebranding and introduces a new website.
Bench-mounted tools are overhauled, including an update in finish from light blue to dark blue powdercoat.
General Pnuematic is aquired by West Cedar Trading. The company is rebranded to GP Tools and moves to a state of the art facility in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
Permanent molds for castings are made for the handheld tools, a major improvement in shop efficiency.
General Pneumatic moves to Post Falls, Idaho. The company also purchases new equipment and updates branding.
The B1 Bomber program is restarted. General Pneumatic tools are used to rivet the engine shroud and front edge of nearly all 110 bombers delivered to the United States Air Force.
General Pneumatic Tools opens its doors in Gardena, California with John Astlund as president.
